Bladesworn is fun and definitely good. 2nd best dps build after vindicator imo and for speedruns it might be the best. As an alternative there is also spellbreaker which is much easier in terms of doing mediocre and still getting somewhat close to max dmg. I also think spellbreaker is really fun. As for Ranger as a starter class, the pet can make exploring the world on your first character pretty fun. Ranger also has one of the strongest downstates in the game, making it very forgiving if you die. I recommend it as a very good beginner class that is still top-tier once you reach endgame. Class advice. [Discussion] About to jump into GW2 and I'm looking for class advice. I'd like to be mostly melee focused. I'm a competent gamer, but wouldn't mind starting with an "easy" class to help my learning curve. Also, I'll probably focus on solo open world play until I really get a feel for things. 24. In some other MMOs (WoW and SWTOR come to mind) each class has their own stat, that increases their damage, like Agility for Rogues and Hunters, Strength for Warriors etc. Guild Wars 2 is not like that. In GW2 there's no inherent stat you should always stack for your particular class, every stat is beneficial in some way. Step 2: buy the expansion bundle. Step 3: Make a Guardian. Step 4: use your free level 80 boost on your guardian. Step 5: Get 240 hero points (24 expansion zone hero point challenges) to max out Firebrand. Step 6: equip Firebrand in your third (bottom) specialization slot of your build tab. Coming from WoW, I find GW2 to be a huge, huge improvement. [Discussion] I'm not new to GW2. I played quite a bit of it, to the point I unlocked the Skyscale like the month it came out. But I haven't played since then. I resubbed to WoW last week, and I already uninstalled it. It's so boring. To maintain 100% uptime on Fierce as Fire trait and Overcharged Cartridges. As for all builds simply hover over the tooltip on which does the most damage and go down that priority list of highest to lowest damage. If Pistol 4 resets Pistol 5: It's an ammo skill of up to 6 charges with each charge dealing more damage. If you are giving sites out for newbies send them in the right direction. Those looking to raid will find outdated builds which will hinder their progress, have little info, no benchmarks, no rotations, no tips, no tricks, no videos showing benchmark (which helps a ton) etc. Same for fractals, your build varies depending on 150 vs 221 AR, different sigils, potions, food even. The two main reasons are: Lots of utility. Revenants are unique in that they get access to two sets of utility skills (including heal and elite) on top of the weapon swap. You choose two legends out of a possible five for a given elite spec, and each legend comes with their own set of utility skills. There's a lot more that makes the two games fundamentally different. Mesmer in GW1 was about extreme punishment and debilitation. Mesmer in GW2 is more about trickery and standard magic flair. There are some punishment skills/traits here, but not to the extent of being the focus of the class (which it was in GW1) 2. /r/GuildWars2 is the primary community for Guild Wars 2 on Reddit. First one should be whatever you need to make your own armor. For medium armor classes Just for the record. It's not an extra minute on the golem. It takes a 1:40 standard golem duration to close to 7 minutes. For that reason, it is a benchmarking standard to bench builds with < 20k DPS at a 1 million golem, because those builds are a rotation showcase, not a DPS showcase. Besides, while having a 2 minute showcase is somewhat .
