The VW 1.9 litre turbo diesel is a four-stroke, so if it breathed if it were a 100 per cent volumetric efficient naturally aspirated engine, at the redline of 4500 rpm it would inhale (4500/2 * 1.9) = 4275 litres / minute.

Malone 1.5 Tune Review. I drive a 2006 Golf (BEW) 5 speed Manual with 185 ,000 on the clock. At 160,000 I decided to purchase a Malone 1.5 Tune. I would have like to have gone with the Stage 2.0 but too many horror stories concerning the stock clutch not handling the power and the the stock turbo over-speeding itself to death.
If you are doing tune and tune only, go stage 1. If you are going to do tune and exhaust or anything else to try to squeeze power out of it, then go 1.5. I know there are a couple sites that sell Malone tuning, look through a couple different pages and see what the sites say for recommendations with the tunes.

Revo keeps the stock tune and the "tuned" tune both in the ECU and it requires a SPS (Serial Port Switch) to switch between them. The APR tune which is currently in Beta testing also has similar ability.

Although a fmic will help keep the power up, but is not essential. Your current injectors are good for over 230bhp.
I have a stage 2 Malone Tune and I love it. If you like hard long driving get the stage 1 to save the turbo, but if you like to get into it a little every day it's been working great for me. I do have creep once the RPM's get to 4000+ and some smoke. Sent me your email and I'll send you a video of the dyno run.

Well on stock turbo its too much yes you will blow your turbo, however we have a track tdi, boosting 1.5 to 1.8 bar with a TB025 turbo off a nissan torrano 2, fitted a T3 manifold cast, waste turbo switched off vacuum system on map, running waste gate turbo. we tuned ourself set Launch limiter at 2800rpm and rpm cut at 4300rpm and we currently pushing 193kw on this one stock engine and stock
My last tdi had no cat and no egr, wouldn't go past 80kmh with all the codes. Currently getting bad fuel mileage with the clogged emission stuff and I want to get rid of it. Not looking for more power, not looking to roll coal, just want to recycle my spare parts and get better mpgs in the process.
